I love breakfast at Tiffany's, and I'm also happy to say I was named after the movie...Roman Holiday and Sabrina are my other two faves.

This posting is obviously for Manuel. Three words: watch her movies!
That's the ONLY way you'll "get it." Otherwise, you're just soaking up everyone else's opinions.
Here's an incomplete listing. (If I were you, I start with her very first film, and work your way up to her last. That way, you get best understand her beauty, presence and sweet charitable nature.)
They All Laughed (1981) .... Angela Niotes
Robin and Marian (1976) .... Lady Marian
Wait Until Dark (1967) .... Susy Hendrix
Two for the Road (1967) .... Joanna Wallace
My Fair Lady (1964) .... Eliza Doolittle
Paris - When It Sizzles (1964) .... Gabrielle Simpson
Charade (1963) .... Regina 'Reggie' Lampert
The Children's Hour (1961) .... Karen Wright
Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) .... Holly Golightly
The Unforgiven (1960) .... Rachel Zachary
The Nun's Story (1959) .... Sister Luke (Gabrielle van der Mal)
Green Mansions (1959) .... Rima
Love in the Afternoon (1957) .... Ariane Chavasse/Thin Girl
Funny Face (1957) .... Jo Stockton
War and Peace (1956) .... Natasha Rostov
Sabrina (1954) .... Sabrina Fairchild
Roman Holiday (1953) .... Princess Ann ('Anya Smith')
Nous irons à Monte Carlo (1952) .... Melissa Walter
The Lavender Hill Mob (1951) .... Chiquita (She's on for just a few moments, but STEALS the scene.)
One Wild Oat (1951) .... Hotel receptionist
Laughter in Paradise (1951) .... Cigarette girl
Oh, and my favorite Audrey Hepburn movie IS ...
all of the above. :) -

Tue, December 28, 2004 - 11:51 PMI'm well on my way to watching all...
So far my favorite is Breakfast At Tiffany's. But right up there is Roman Holiday. It's so awsome how even back then, there wasn't always a "together..happily ever after" ending. Plus to imagine Audrey as a princess, then a queen, ain't too hard.

Mon, March 8, 2004 - 10:52 PMRoman Hoiday is the first movie I saw Audrey in, when I was about 8. I was watching with my grandfather, who liked to watch the older movies along with the chessy kung fu movies.

Sat, July 17, 2004 - 9:21 AMWithout a doubt 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'...
'Funny Face'was the first movie I saw with Audrey and instantly feel in love. I'd have to say 'Funny Face' is #2.

Re: Fave Audrey movie...
Tue, November 16, 2004 - 11:00 AMi really love charade..the dry humor. and breakfast at tiffany's is a classic....but i have really been into "how to steal a million" lately. i love peter o'toole and it's her only leading man that was the same age as her in her films (they were both 24). it's a fun, fluff film (not unlike funny face)...but truly a treasure. -

Re: Fave Audrey movie...
Wed, December 8, 2004 - 8:00 PMi feel bad because " breakfast at tiffany's " dosen't send me because i read the truman capote story first. and i am one of " those people " who feels cheated when seeing a movie of a book you just read...
but i am glad nikki2sox gives props to " how to steal a million ". it is one of my faves of her films. but i still have yet to see her entire output. i guess that is what ageing is for...

Re: Fave Audrey movie...
Wed, December 29, 2004 - 8:42 AMBreakfast At Tiffany's- i saw this after living a somwhat similar lifestyle but inmordern times of course.
i watched with a mother (who was rich off her rocker) of an ex.
she insisted that i had some wine and watch it with her because she was obsessed with the fact that i reminded her of a.h.
i will never forget sitting in her living room watching that movie and how her marble floor got more glinty as i got more tipsy..and people on the waterway were driving past in thier boats. you could see out over the veranda through this floor to ceiling glass wall/window that was as high as the side of her townhouse.
too surreal.
but nice all the same.

Re: Fave Audrey movie...
Tue, January 10, 2006 - 10:16 AMA resounding affirmation to that one. Funny face is my favourite, at least for this month.
I love watching Audrey do that style of dance.
The Nun Story I loved as well- a more serious role for Audrey and a great display of her versatile talent.

Re: Fave Audrey movie...
Thu, March 10, 2005 - 4:14 PMHi everyone-
New to the group, and so glad it's here.
My favourite would have to be Funny Face- just because I love the "beatnik" type dance scene. -
-
Any recommendations?
Fri, July 22, 2005 - 12:49 AMHi, I'm also new to the group. It's good to see a group for Audrey Hepburn.
Hmm..fave movie..well sadly, I have only seen My Fair Lady, and Breakfast At Tiffany's..and out of those two..I am going to have to say Breakfast At Tiffany's is my favorite.
but My Fair Lady was very cool.
There just aren't actors around that are like Audrey anymore..like actors who really put their heart into it!
Anyway, she really made me laugh real hard in Breakfast At Tiffany's...especially about the phone being in the suitcase...'the mean reds'...setting that hat on fire with the cigarette....saying 'timber' when that lady was gonna fall....and not to mention that drunken scene being carried up the stairs, just blabbing everything at any volume...and telling the land lord he's the one who's going to wake everyone haha! Brilliant! No one else could have pulled this movie off this way! No one! All of it is so good.
hope to see you guys around some more later :)
-Marie
I have some catching up to do on my Audrey Hepburn movies huh? Any recommendations for first ones to check out? -

Re: Any recommendations?
Fri, July 22, 2005 - 12:58 AMwoops! Sorry, I just saw that someone left a nice list of Audrey's movies already.
Hey, did anyone hear something about an Audrey Hepburn marathon type thing being on lately? Or soon?
Someone mentioned it to me, but maybe I misunderstood.
Anyway, thanks on the list...even though it was here before I was hehe.

Re: Any recommendations?
Mon, August 8, 2005 - 2:55 PMBreakfast At Tiffanys is my favorite as well! Truman Capotes novel was great, Audrey Hepburn was absolutely perfect for this role, the musical score is fantasitc and her Givenchy gowns were amazing!
My Fair Lady is wonderful too. If for no other reason than the horse race scene. Totally hilarious!!! -
-
I just got Charade
Tue, August 23, 2005 - 2:57 PMI just recently purchased Charade--and let me tell you, I loved it. It's like Audrey's movies never have even one thing out of place..and it seems like no matter who she plays, she has this wittiness about her or something and she'll make you smile. She, if no one else in the movie, will keep your attention held..her acting still exceeds all standards and always will.
(It cracked me up when Reggie said ".. if I had a quarter of a million dollars lying around, believe me, I'd *know* IT!")
She was great in Charade and so was Cary Grant--but gotta say that Breakfast At Tiffany's is still my all time favorite. I have many more to see though.
L!s>>>Haha yeah the horse race scene in My Fair Lady was hilarious. Going from proper and prim language back to her old self in a matter of minutes =P That was also a cool play, I read some of it.
Right now I'm actually reading the Breakfast At Tiffany's novel finally, I just checked it out from the library at school..good stuff. But I'm glad I did watch the movie first--because I don't think Holly would be very likeable at all, if you're not picturing Audrey in the role, she might seem more cruel etc.

Re: I just got Charade
Wed, August 24, 2005 - 9:33 PMHi Marie, that's so true about the book. The movie polishes her up a lot. You get alot more of the "call girl" Holly in the book. I was glad I watched the movie first too. :) -
-
Re: I just got Charade
Tue, November 29, 2005 - 6:56 PMapparently truman capote was not psyched about audrey playing holly. he thought she was too innocent (she is) and wanted marilyn monroe as holly golightly. that would have been an entirely different kind of movie! -
-
Re: I just got Charade
Tue, November 29, 2005 - 10:30 PMIt's all Audrey for that movie!
Speaking of Capote, anyone catch the film? Any thoughts? I liked it a lot it was intense. -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
